Allen Albeitski is our acting vice president and one of our clarinetists.

Music pays a very important part in the Albeitski family. His eldest daughter plays the clarinet at Timothy Edwards, his youngest will soon be joining the 4th grade band at Eli Terry Elementary School as a flute player, and his wife is a current member of the South Windsor Community Chorus.

Since Allen's introduction to our band a little over one year ago, he has graced us with his comic relief and his love for musicals and medleys.
Lou Donato is also a clarinetist, although he recently decided to grace our saxophone section with his tenor.

For years, Lou played professionally with the Al Jarvis entertainment bands. Currently a father of four and a grandfather of three, he continues to teach the band program at John Wallace Middle School in Newington, CT.

Betty Merker is an instructional paraprofessional in special education at Pleasant Valley Elementary School.

A little over three years ago when Betty's daughter decided to learn the flute in 4th grade, Betty thought it might be a good idea for her to pull out her old flute and learn with her. It was quickly obvious how much she had missed her musical experiences and how beneficial it was in strengthening an already beautiful relationship with her child.
Cindy Eastman joined our band almost four years ago, which puts her in the "founding member" status.

She is a long time resident of South Windsor and currently teaches Preschool Vernon. Although she is quiet about her skills as a flute player, she has shown an unyielding commitment and dedication to our band.

Anne Baston is a South Windsor resident with three young children.

About 15 years ago, Anne spent her college days at Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute in Troy, NY. There she studied to become an electrical engineer but also performed her flute in the school's various ensembles. Two years ago Anne saw an ad for the South Windsor Community Band in the recreation brochure and decided that it had been too long since her performance days and joined our band shortly thereafter. She has since surpassed our expectations and proven her talents to be top notch.
Leslie Cohen, the president and founder of our band, has been a South Windsor resident all her life.

In 7th grade Leslie decided that she wanted to try a unique instrument. The band director, James Turek, now her peer, gave her the bassoon. After going through the South Windsor band program, she went to the University of Rhode Island to become a music educator. After completing her Masters in Conducting, Mrs. Cohen returned to South Windsor where she currently teaches the band programs in three of the five elementary schools and runs our community band. We are thankful for her dedication and commitment to our own performance experiences and the unique and welcoming atmosphere she provides.
